When the front door opens into this lakehouse, the When the front door opens into this lakehouse, the pace of the day instantly shifts. We wrapped this tall entry in shiplap and painted it a deep, moody tone to create a sense of cocooning. That quiet, grounding moment that marks the transition from weekday rush to weekend ease. To bring energy into the dark palette, we hung a massive ivory pendant overhead that feels almost sculptural against the high ceilings. Opposite, a custom six-foot bright blue mirror acts like a magnet for the eye, reflecting happy incoming guests and the art around them in a playful burst of colour. Beyond the dark walls, and out of frame, you get immediate glimpses of the pine trees and soft, watery light filtering through oversized windows ahead. It’s an inviting, atmosphere-rich space that sets an unforgettable tone the second you step inside...dramatic, warm, and wonderfully peaceful. Basement bar goals... A fully finished, highly op Basement bar goals... A fully finished, highly optimized lower level is standard on all of our projects. Set below this basement staircase, where full-height windows above spill light below, this bar overlooks the lounge and movie area, with the gym and dance studio just beyond. Living copper countertops are an absolute favourite of ours. You truly can’t mess them up, and they only look better as they age. Natural oak, polished concrete floors, and a graphic black custom fixture bring a cool contrast to the warm metal. We tucked a wine fridge, beverage fridge, and dishwasher into the bar itself, using custom roll-outs under the stairs to house liquor, snacks, and wrapping supplies. Sleepover central... I fondly remember growing up Sleepover central... I fondly remember growing up having friends stay at our family’s lake house. Swimming all day, picnics, board games, marshmallow roasts, and those late nights chatting way into the evening - the absolute best ❤️ For this sweet lakeside bedroom, we wanted to capture that exact magic. We clad the walls in classic shiplap and layered in a classic spool bed with cozy bedding. To maximize the space, we designed custom window seats in both bay windows that fit extra-long single mattresses, complete with a bottom roll-out trundle under one and large storage drawers under the other. It’s truly designed for the young and the young at heart. It’s the perfect solution for when the house is overrun with guests, or for those memorable weekend friend gatherings. Dressed in pretty fabrics with views through the pine trees to the lake beyond, it’s the ultimate cozy retreat. What’s your favorite lake house memory? A moment for the details... We love the simple, c A moment for the details... We love the simple, clean design of these full-height metal and glass display doors. By designing the kitchen with tons of concealed storage, we gave these doors room to breathe - letting the striking, elegant contrast of the bronze finish against the oak take center stage. It holds just the things you love to look at, nothing more, nothing less. Grounded by buttery soft oyster-toned leather counter stools and glorious marble in the foreground. Family room goals… Built right into the side of a Family room goals… Built right into the side of a hill, this room completely redefines what a lower level can be. Sitting flush with the back garden, it feels like a hidden city escape. The floor-to-ceiling windows look straight out into a quiet, treed oasis, so you always feel connected to the trees and the changing seasons. By day, the sun completely floods the space, making it the perfect spot to lounge with a coffee. By night, it transforms into a glowing, deeply cozy retreat for movie nights, late-night conversations, and just slowing down. Because it’s a generous space, we wanted to make sure it felt incredibly intimate and welcoming the moment you walk in. The crisp white walls are grounded by that beautiful wall of custom walnut millwork and a matching low return. There’s a rich, organic warmth to the wood grain that instantly makes you want to sink in and stay a while. We tucked a sleek, suspended fireplace off into a cozy corner just out of frame, adding that crackling, fireside comfort without competing with the view. And because the best nights always seem to end with music, a whole wall of guitars sits opposite the TV, ready for casual jam sessions with friends. With comfortable textures and bright pops of color, it’s a space built for real life, easy hosting, and long, lazy weekends.
