As part of a full home renovation, we excavated the basement to achieve proper ceiling height - a “dig-down” that was essential to making this level feel like a primary living area. In a compact subterranean environment, white walls are a great tool to maintain volume and keep the footprint feeling expansive. The design was a puzzle of integration. We tucked away the technical requirements - automated blackout blinds and a hidden roll-down screen - to keep the focus on the custom millwork, and polished concrete floors. By maintaining a crisp, neutral backdrop, the extra-long green velvet bench acts as a singular, vibrant anchor, creating a high-contrast look that feels both functional and gallery-like. From afternoon matinees to guest sleepovers, this space balances its technical purpose with a refined, airy aesthetic that matches the caliber of the rest of the home. Absorbing a space is a sensory process. It’s about Absorbing a space is a sensory process. It’s about more than just measurements; it’s about the way the light shifts throughout the day, the inherent energy of the architecture, and the unique point of view our clients bring to the table. These elements collectively inform how we tackle a design, ensuring the result is a reflection of both the environment and the people who live within it. In this kitchen, the material palette serves as a deliberate anchor for the surrounding open-concept rooms. We paired deep, moody blues with the organic grain of natural woods and topped the surfaces with concrete counters to create a grounded, tactile foundation. To soften the edges, we integrated hand-blown light fixtures that add an artisanal glow to the space’s clean, modern lines. The true jumping-off point for our colour and material selections was the home’s stunning rammed earth walls. By drawing inspiration from their raw, layered texture, we were able to design a kitchen and pantry that feel contemporary yet deeply inviting. This throwback is a study in scale, soul, and the This throwback is a study in scale, soul, and the art of the transition. One of our most cherished projects involved the relocation of the loveliest couple from Ottawa to a sprawling new build in Toronto. Far from a downsizing, this project allowed us to collaborate with the architects and builders from the ground up to create a home tailored specifically for their next chapter: one centered on family and the art of entertaining. The living room serves as the residence’s grand connector. Framed by floor-to-ceiling glass, the interior offers an uninterrupted dialogue with the outdoor oasis - a curated landscape featuring a pool, spa, and the verdant fairways of a storied golf course beyond. To honor the clients’ innate warmth, we curated a “luxury hotel” sensibility through a strictly tactile lens. We utilized a consistent, elevated palette of natural linens, serene wools, rich woods, and honed marble throughout the entire home, ensuring the transition from room to room felt seamless and serene. At our studio, we don’t believe in a “signature st At our studio, we don’t believe in a “signature style.” Instead, we believe in signatures - the unique, indelible mark each client leaves on their own environment. Our process is a deep dive into the specific pulse of the people who will inhabit a space, ensuring that no two projects ever whisper the same story. We approach every room as a fresh canvas, rejecting the ease of repeat designing in favor of a rigorous, detail-oriented exploration. For us, a home is only successful if it feels like an effortless extension of the person who lives there, realized through a lens that is entirely their own. Every element we select is a deliberate choice, layered with intention to create a narrative that feels both storied and new. In this particular vignette, we’ve leaned into the beauty of contrast and history. Salvaged doors are given a new life, grounding the space with a sense of permanence, while a playful, colourful vintage shag rug introduces a rebellious energy. Above it all, a porcelain light hangs as a quiet, refined punctuation mark. It’s these specific “doors with detail” and tactile textures that transform a house into a home, reflecting the passion we pour into every square inch. Ultimately, we are driven by the sensory experience of design. Every project comes to us and is realized through a different sense - sometimes it’s the tactile memory of a found object, other times it’s a specific play of light. By obsessing over the smallest details, from the patina of reclaimed wood to the glow of a hand-picked fixture, we ensure that our point of view remains fluid and adaptive. We don’t just build rooms; we curate atmospheres that are as complex and multifaceted as our clients themselves. Cute as a button... We pushed this floor plan to Cute as a button... We pushed this floor plan to the absolute limit! By carving into the space under a third-floor stairwell, we created a vibrant ensuite for a very special young lady. The blue is so fresh and fun, especially with the way the light dances off those glossy fish scale tiles. We added brass hits for a pop of glam, while ivory floor tiles with soft blue edges quietly tie every detail together. But we didn’t just stop at the aesthetics - function was never overlooked. We designed a hard-working vanity featuring custom millwork with dedicated pullouts for hair appliances and makeup, while a medicine cabinet mirror harnesses even more storage. It’s proof that you don’t need a massive footprint to have a high-functioning, high-personality space.
